Charly's Taqueria, or as commonly referred to by locals as Charly's, was opened as a fast-casual Mexican restaurant in Springdale, Arkansas in 2008 by Jose-Carlos & Zoila Castillo. Carlos translates to “Charly” from its root in Old German, meaning "free man". Coincidently the duo are known for their free spirits, grand theatrics, and colorful personalities, it was chosen not only because they loved the meaning, but because the theme fit perfectly with their vibrant and exciting menu ideas. Hence the motto "No Borders, Just Flavor". His vision is kept alive by his wife and two sons, who continue to push the boundaries of fast casual Mexican food "Siempre con sabor o' si no pa que". "Do it with flair, or why even try", is the families motto.
